Now ruined: ,,,, Attack of the newbies - at NWS.. government self-destruction..
What was once a Bandwidth-Friendly Weather-Radar Page
is now spoiled by too many, & too large of images used for their animation.
The fallback-page for selecting images,
for a tab-wise animation, is: https://cdn.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES16/ABI/SECTOR/psw/ .
Directory 7, 12, 13 & 15 are colorful.
Go to the end of the page,, open a small image (300x300) then skip back 4 or 5 time-slots,, & open another in a new tab..
A few more of those and you'll cover nearly 2 hours with 5 images.
NOAA-updated Aviation Weather site AWC(non-functional gone tech-tard) Radar & CONUS west animation
Source site Inbound Weather at Eastern Pacific
Through a slow connection you'll need to stop the animation
let each image load as you page through 5,, then start animation.
Html Author: ricocheting.com, did the original html,
which is used here for layout,, and running the small-image animation..
The large image animation is produced externally by NWS & has far too many large images, and scrolls too fast, for marginal internet connection speeds..
The proper balance of play-speed and load-speed are not being considered for NWS's animations.
The small-image presentation will be updated manually if needed until the next storm passes...
